How to add/modify search engines

While adding new features, IE8 also adjusts the details of some old features. This is not the case. Modifications to the default search engine and addition of search engines have also undergone minor changes. As a result, many users do not know how to add a new search engine to use it as the default search. This article will explain how to add and modify the Internet Explorer 8 search engine.

Method 1: The setting wizard is displayed when IE8 is started for the first time. One step is to set the search engine. You can select the default search engine step by step as prompted, and add and use a new search engine, this step is relatively simple, small series will not detail.

Method 2: if the default settings are used for the first setting and you want to re-adjust the search engine application afterwards, how can you modify the settings? Click "tools-options-General", and then click "Search" here "Settings" to open the "Manage Add-on" interface, click "find more search providers" at the bottom of the page. Figure 1 ).

After a moment, the page named "visual search of add-on resource library" is displayed in the new IE window. Click "Search" in the left-side name list. Figure 2 ), you can see the list of all available search engines in addition to Google and Baidu, including dictionary search, potato video search, and Ctrip Travel search ).

Now, you can click "add to Internet Explorer" in the search engine you want to use. After that, click the search box in IE8 to see if the search engine candidate list is in figure 3 ).

TIPS: If you want to use the new search engine as the default search, you need to return to the management add-on and enter the "search provider" interface to set the default search engine you specified.
