How to install files larger than 4G on the Windows XP system and Windows 7 drive, win74g

Why can't a 4G file be stored on a 16g or 8g USB flash drive? This is a problem that many people have encountered. This is because the default file format of our USB flash drive is FAT32, and one of the features of this file format is that the maximum size of a single file that can be stored is 4 GB. Therefore, we must convert FAT32 to another format. The available formats are exFAT and NTFS. However, the copy speed is not fast due to poor compatibility of exFAT format. We recommend that you format the USB flash disk into NTFS format. The following describes how to format a USB flash drive in the Windows XP system and Windows 7 system into the NTFS format to store files larger than 4G.

The first is the win7 system, because this is the system most people use now. Right-click the drive letter of your USB flash drive and select "format". The format setting page is displayed.

As you can see, the default file system is FAT32. Click the inverted triangle on the right and select the NTFS format. Click Start to start formatting. After that, you can store files larger than 4 GB.

Then there is the XP system. Also, right-click your drive letter and select "format ".

On the settings page that appears, click the downward arrow next to FAT32. We can see that there are only two options and there is no NTFS format. What should I do?

Don't worry. Shut it down. Right-click the drive letter of your USB flash drive and select "attribute ". In the pop-up window, select "hardware", select your own USB flash drive in the following list (generally the first one is), and then click "properties ".

In the pop-up window, select the second "optimize for performance improvement" and click OK. In this step, you can also right-click "my computer" and select "properties" and select "Device Manager ", then, you can find your USB flash drive device in the Device Manager to set it. However, this is not easy to understand. Click OK. Reformat the USB flash disk and you will find that NTFS is available when you select the format option. You will understand later.
