How to modify GIF images

When you want to add something to a GIF image, such as a profile or company logo, it is often difficult to get the exact color you want. Even after you adjust the color point of the image editing software to the desired color, the software still gives you another color.

This is because the image editing software keeps the GIF color palette, and you need to use colors that are not in it. The solution is to open the GIF image and convert it to JPEG format. Now you have any colors you want to use. After that, reduce it to 8-bit or lower and save it as GIF.

Even if you do not want to add new colors, you must be aware of whether your modifications have deleted any colors, especially when cutting images. Because each color in the image is reduced, the file size is reduced accordingly, especially when the bit depth is reduced. You need to allow your image editing software to recalculate the color in time. Some image editing software requires you to switch to the true color first, but when you change back to the sort color, the color palette is reduced.

If you only want to replace the other with one color, the above problems do not exist. Still in the GIF format in the sort color mode, open the color palette (find the color palette or color table in the menu of the image editing software) and click to select the color you want to convert. Type the RGB value of the new color and turn off the color palette. Pixels of old colors are now presented in new colors.
