How to retrieve lost quick start options in Windows 8

The solution is as follows:

1. This may be caused by the disabling of the sleep function. We can solve this problem through the following method. Right-click the windows icon-command prompt (administrator) then, open the "command prompt (administrator)" window in cmd;

2. Enter powercfg/h on in the cmd command, right-click and choose paste in the command prompt window, as shown in the figure below:
 

3. After you press enter, you can enable the sleep function quickly;

4. Now, go to "control panel-system and security-power options-select power button" from the Start menu, as shown in the following figure;

5. Then, "change the currently unavailable settings" can be selected or deselected.
