How to set the sort_buffer_size parameter in MySQL,
The default value of sort_buffer_size (connect-level parameter, MySQL5.7, 1048576 bytes by default, that is, 1 MB) is so small,
I wonder if I can increase the memory size by dozens of GB, and I don't care about the memory size.
Note: The author tries to modify the value of this parameter. In a typical sorting (large tables with no sorting fields indexed) query, before and after the modification of sort_buffer_size, there seems to be no significant difference in performance,
That is to say, the default configuration is enough, or the author's current understanding of this parameter value is not enough.
Including other MySQL parameters, the size of a few MB is small, and I want to adjust it to a larger value. This is not the case.
No wonder, the author of high-performance MySQL says: "(under certain conditions) You can even forget the existence of some configurations"
It is not hard to understand. By default, anyone who writes a program will always hold more than 90% of the cases.
I have also heard some veterans say that some configurable parameters are not 100% sure. Do not modify them at will. The modified results (side effects) it may be much more serious than you think.
