Introduction:

Exchange Server 2007 provides a new messaging compatibility tool, called the transport rule mechanism. This mechanism allows administrators to use policy restrictions on message information from inside and outside. For example, you can add disclaimer to mail and file information, and even prevent mail messages from being sent to specific recipients. If you have activated federated communications, you can also use transmission rules for voice mail and Faxes. In this guidebook, Exchange MVP Brien Posey explains how to use Exchange 2007 transport rules to create a confidential disclaimer of external message information, configure exceptions, and set message classification.

Part One: How to add Disclaimer for Exchange Server 2007 messages

First, let's demonstrate how to create a simple transport rule to add disclaimer to deny any information sent by a member of a particular distribution group. (In Exchange Server 2007, distribution lists are also called distribution groups.) )

For the sake of this example, let's say you want to add a confidential disclaimer to any information from the legal department of the company. To simplify the problem, we also assume that you have created a distribution group called "Legal" that contains all the recipients of the legal department of the company.

1. First, open the Exchange Management Console.

2. Browse organization Configuration-〉hub Transport, select transport rules (transmission rule).

3. In the Options box, click New transport mechanism to start the New Transport Mechanism wizard.

4. Enter a name for the Exchange Server 2007 transport mechanism you created. In this case, we name "Legal Department Disclaimer" And there is an area to describe the rules you are about to create. (I never recommend using this description area, but the transmission rules are so complex that some rules may need to be described to ensure that others can understand them.) )

This screen also contains a "Enable rule" checkbox, typically with a default value. This means that once you have created the rule, this rule is available unless you choose this box. For our purposes, we reserve this checkbox option, as shown in Figure A:
