How to solve the problem that the brand machine can't ghost system

General brand Machine will have a hidden small partition (1th partition, usually is C: disk) used to protect the system, if the use of Ghost XP engraved disk automatic installation, often in the process of automatic ghost error. Detect whether the hard disk has hidden small partitions, you can use the Ghost XP boot CD menu in the partition Magic 8.05 traditional version of the check, if the state bar the front has a 10M or so partition, then this small partition is the 1th partition.

If you install the system in a different way, as long as the Ghost XP installation disk when the choice of manual ghost to install, the general will skip the hidden partition, after installing XP system can generally enter the graphical interface. But after restarting, it is generally impossible to enter the system. System prompts: The file is damaged or missing, such as Hal.dll loss and so on.

This is because the C-packing directory of Boot.ini files illegal, resulting in the default from the C:windows boot, but also because your Windows XP is not installed in C disk (hidden small partition is generally the real C disk, Ghost XP has actually been loaded in D disk), so the system failed to start.

The workaround is to edit the Boot.ini file again.

1. If the system is installed after XP for the first time into the desktop (do not restart). You can modify the Boot.ini item in the C: root directory you see (you need to remove "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)" and "Show All Files and folders" in the view Under Folder Options).

The general Boot.ini are as follows:

[boot loader]

Timeout=3

Default=multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) WINDOWS

[Operating Systems]

multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) windows= "Microsoft WINDOWS XP Professional"/noexecute=optin/fastdetect/ Detecthal

"C:arldr=" DOS Toolbox ""

Change the partition (1) of the two places to partition (2) and save them.

Explanation: "Partition (1)" is the only partition (1th partition) on the first drive in the computer. If there are two partitions (c and D), partition C is partition (1) and partition D is partition (2). Partition (2) is your Ghost XP actually installed "D" disk.

Now the system can start normally.

2. If the system has been restarted after the first entry into the desktop after installing XP, you cannot enter the system, you can follow these steps:

Reboot the system with the Ghost XP Setup disk and select Enter the DOS toolbox on the CD Boot menu.

At the command prompt, type: "Copy space edit.com space C:" Enter, copy Edit.com to the C: root directory, then enter C:. Type: "Attrib space-H-R white space-s space boot.ini" to remove Boot.ini hidden, read-only, System properties, carriage return.

Type: "Edit space Boot.ini", enter.

Follow the above method to change partition (1) to partition (2), and then save exit.

Type: "attrib space +h space +r space +s space boot.ini", re-establish boot.ini hidden, read-only, System properties, enter.

Reboot the system and finish!

You can now use the disc's own win PE startup for Boot.ini modifications.

Note: If the hard disk does not have a hidden small partition, you do not need to modify the boot.ini.

Because Ghost XP is actually installed on the "D" disk, there will be an error installing the one-click Restore Wizard and running the Ghost backup system. If you need to back up your system, you must use ghost manually.

Boot.ini the meaning of the data in the file:

"Timeout" Specifies the time Windows waits before selecting the default operating system

The default operating system is specified by "default".

"scsi (0)" indicates that the primary controller (usually the only controller) is responsible for this device. If there are two SCSI controllers and the disk is associated with the second controller, the second controller is called SCSI (1). If the system uses the IDE, an enhanced IDE (EIDE), or an enhanced small device interface (ESDI) drive, or if the system uses a SCSI adapter that does not have a built-in BIOS, replace "SCSI" with "multi".

"Disk (0)" refers to the SCSI logical Unit (LUN) to be used. It can be a stand-alone disk, but most SCSI settings have only one LUN per SCSI ID.

"rdisk (0)" means Physical Disk 1

"Partition (1)" is the only partition on the first drive in the computer. If there are two partitions (c and D), partition C is partition (1) and partition D is partition (2).
