Idea: Install centos7 minimal on the USB flash drive and then install KDE.
1. Install centos7 minimal on a USB flash drive
Install RHEL with a USB flash drive;
2. Install X Window System
[[email protected] root]# yum groupinstall "X Window System"
3. Install KDE
[[email protected] root]# yum groupinstall KDE
4. Start X Window System
[[email protected] root]# startx
5. Switch to the KDE Environment
[[email protected] root]# init 5
6. Delete the built-in software of KDE;
[[Email protected] root] # Yum remove kdepim # The kdepim software package contains korganizer, akregator, kmail, knode, knotes, kontact, [email protected] root] # cd/usr/share/applications [[email protected] applications] # tar-czvf kde4.tar.gz. /kde4/[[email protected] applications] # rm kde4-RF # disable all software included in KDE
7. Install the wireless NIC Driver
1. view the wireless network card model
[[Email protected] root] # lspci | grep Broadcom # view wireless network card version. 0 network controllet: Broadcom Corporation bcm4312 802.11b/g LP-PHY (Rev 01)
2. Download the NIC Driver file: http://www.broadcom.com/support/802.11/linux_sta.php (readme.txt for installation instructions)
[[Email protected] Download] # Yum install kernel-headers kernel-devel GCC # install the required components [[email protected] Download] # tar-xzvf hybrid-V *** .tar.gz # decompress the downloaded driver [[email protected] Download] # Make # compile [[email protected] Download] # ...... # Compilation information [[email protected] Download] # make install # Install the driver [[email protected] Download] # depmod 'uname-R' # Build module dependency [email protected] download] # modprobe WL # load the driver module
Now, the wireless network card can be used.
