Install remote desktop service for Raspberry Pi

Install the remote desktop service for Raspberry Pi and configure the VNC service for Raspberry Pi and banana pi to support remote desktop control.

To support remote desktop services on raspberry, you can use Tight VNC to access raspberry desktops through the Remote Desktop client, so that you do not need to configure the display screen for raspberry. Directly using a mobile device or Mac may also directly access raspberry's desktop.

Install Tight VNC
sudo apt-get install tightvncserver

Then run the TightVNC Server

tightvncserver

When the server is started for the first time, you need to add a remote connection session to the VNC service:

vncserver :0 -geometry 1920x1080 -depth 24

To start this session more conveniently, we can create a script to simplify this command:

nano svnc.sh

Add the following content

#!/bin/shvncserver :0 -geometry 1920x1080 -depth 24 -dpi 96

Set the file to Executable

chmod +x svnc.sh

Then execute:

./svnc.sh
Run at startup

In/etc/init.dCreate a vncboot Service Startup file in the directory:

#!/bin/sh### BEGIN INIT INFO# Provides: vncboot# Required-Start: $remote_fs $syslog# Required-Stop: $remote_fs $syslog# Default-Start: 2 3 4 5# Default-Stop: 0 1 6# Short-Description: Start VNC Server at boot time# Description: Start VNC Server at boot time.### END INIT INFOUSER=rootHOME=/rootexport USER HOMEcase "$1" in start)   echo "Starting VNC Server"   #Insert your favoured settings for a VNC session   /usr/bin/vncserver :0 -geometry 1280x800 -depth 16 -pixelformat rgb565   ;; stop)   echo "Stopping VNC Server"   /usr/bin/vncserver -kill :0   ;; *)   echo "Usage: /etc/init.d/vncboot {start|stop}"   exit 1   ;;esacexit 0

Modify the executable permissions of an object

chmod 755 /etc/init.d/vncboot

Add files to the startup sequence

update-rc.d /etc/init.d/vncboot defaults

If it is successfully added, the following words will appear:

 update-rc.d: using dependency based boot sequencing

However, if:

update-rc.d: error: unable to read /etc/init.d//etc/init.d/vncboot

You can try the following commands:

update-rc.d vncboot defaults

Restart your PI and you will find that the VNC service can be started.

VNC client

On the VNC client, we recommend that you use the VNC Viewer produced by RealVNC. It is supported on multiple platforms. I installed an iOS version of ViewVNC on my iPad to access raspberry's desktop.

Note that when using VNC Viewer to connect to the VNC service, you must useIP:Port. The default connection port is5901. Assume that Shumei's address is192.168.100.1The connection address of the VNC service should be192.168.100.1:5901. If multiple connection sessions are enabled on Shumei, the port number increments directly. For example, to start the second service session in raspberry, use192.168.100.1:5902.
