Installation of StarDict and dictionaries under Linux

1. First go to stardict homepage to download the main program star translation of the King's RPM package address: http://stardict.sourceforge.net

and execute it in the directory where the RPM package is located

RPM-IVH stardict-3.0.4-1.fc17.i386.rpm

(if prompted for a dependent package, follow the prompts to download the appropriate package with Yum)

If the Yum source has stardict, you can install it directly stardict

Yum Install StarDict

The dictionary will open when you enter stardict on the command line, now it's just an empty shell, and you need to add a dictionary

StarDict will be installed in/usr/share/stardict, its dictionary directory is/usr/share/stardict/dic

2. Add a Thesaurus

StarDict Thesaurus Address: http://abloz.com/huzheng/stardict-dic/

If the downloaded dictionary is aaa.tar.bz2

Move the downloaded dictionary to the/usr/share/stardict/dic directory (if there is no dic directory, build one yourself)

MV Aaa.tar.bz2/usr/share/stardict/dic

Unzip in the DIC directory

Cd/usr/share/stardict/dic

TAR-XJVF aaa.tar.bz2
