Ubuntu on the input method mainly has a small input platform (support pinyin/two pens/Wubi, etc.), FCITX,IBUS,SCIM and so on. Where SCIM and IBUs are input frame.
In the Ubuntu Chinese system with Chinese input method, through the ctrl+space can be switched in English IME. Here we mainly talk about the installation of Chinese input method in Ubuntu English system.
The first step in installing the input method is to install the language pack. We select System Settings-->language support-->install/remove Languages, the following window will pop up: www.2cto.com
When you enter a password, the Simplified Chinese Language pack is installed.
The second step is to install the IBUs framework and enter the following command at the terminal:
sudo apt-get install IBUs ibus-clutter ibus-gtk IBUS-GTK3
Start the IBUs frame and enter at the end:
Im-switch-s IBUs
After installing the IBUs frame, unregister the system to ensure that the change takes effect immediately.
Step three: Install phonetic engine
There are several common choices:
IBUs Pinyin: sudo apt-get install Ibus-pinyin
IBUs Wubi: sudo apt-get install Ibus-table-wubi
Google Pinyin Input method: sudo apt-get install Ibus-googlepinyin
Sun Pinyin Input Method: sudo apt-get install Ibus-sunpinyin

Step fifth: Typically, the IBUs icon (a keypad) appears in the taskbar in the upper-right corner of the desktop. Sometimes the icon disappears, and you can use the following command to retrieve the missing IBUs icon:
