Installing ArcGIS 10.1 for server on Windows

• Hardware requirements

  For deployment environments, the minimum memory size is 4 GB. This requirement is based on the following typical deployment environments:

  • Two cached map services
  • One dynamic map service
  • One Locator Service
  • One geoprocessing Service
  • Geometry Service
  • Printingtools Service
  • SQL Server Express
  • IIS with Web adaptor

  In actual deployment, the minimum hardware requirement cannot be specific, because it needs to be adjusted according to different users and needs. The performance and scalability requirements of users must be considered for hardware requirements.

• Ii. Installation Steps
• 1. Install ArcGIS Server
  • After the disc is loaded, you can see the following interface

    This time, we will install ArcGIS for server. The functions of other programs will be described in the following blog

  • Choose to install ArcGIS for server and click setup next to ArcGIS for server.

  • Click Next in the pop-up window.

  • Check I accept the license agreement

  • Click Change to modify the installation path and click Next to continue

  • Click Browse to select the python installation directory. Click Next to continue.

  • Create a server account and password. After setting the password, click Next to continue.

    If you have an account configuration file created during installation, select the option below.

  • Indicates whether to export account information. If you do not need it, you can choose not to export it. Click Next to continue

  • Click Install to start installation.

  • Wait patiently until installation is complete

  • Click Finish to complete installation

• 2. Authorization
  • Select the corresponding authorization METHOD FOR AUTHORIZATION

  • Authorization complete. Click Finish to end authorization.

• 3. Create a site
  • After the installation is complete, the Manager page is displayed automatically. Here we choose to create a site. You can add existing sites to build clusters.

  • Enter the primary site administrator account and click "Next ". Many people may have a question at this step: Is this account related to the account created in the step of installing ArcGIS Server? Which of the following controls are used? First, the ArcGIS Server account we created in the previous section is the operating system account created for ArcGIS Server. (after the installation, you can switch the operating system account to see it, if there is another ArcGIS Server, this account is actually used to manage the operating system processes of ArcGIS Server (start and stop the ArcGIS Server Service); and the website account we created at this time, it is mainly used to manage GIS resources of various types of services in the site (such as publishing, starting, stopping, and deleting of various types of services, site security, and cluster management ). The two accounts are completely irrelevant and can be set at will.

  • Specify the Directory and click "Next"

  • Complete Creation

  • Enter the previous website administrator account and click log on.

  • Now we have successfully installed ArcGIS 10.1 for server.
