1, checkpoints
The checkpoints checkpoint is a series of information that is displayed on the display panel of the I/O cabinet after the system's power CMOS initialization (initial program LOAD,IPL) runs.
When the AC power is connected to the system, the IPL process begins, and the IPL process consists of four steps:
(1) Initialization of Phase 1:service Processor
Phase 1 starts when the AC power is connected to the system until OK is displayed in the display panel on the I/O cabinet. In this step, a 8xxx or 9xxx checkpoints code is displayed.
(2) Phase 2: Hardware initialization by Service Processor boot
Phase 2 starts with a white power switch on the I/O cabinet. In this step, the 9xxx checkpoints is displayed. 91FF is the last code that marks the beginning of the third step.
(3) Phase 3: Initialization of system firmware
In Phase 3, a system processor takes over control and continues to initialize system resources, which will display the exxx in this step. E105 is the final code that marks the beginning of the fourth step AIX boot. A variety of position codes (position codes representing each part of the system) are also displayed in this process.
(4) Phase 4:aix start
When Aix starts, the code on the display panel is 0xxx, and the position code appears in the second row. When the login window for AIX appears on the console, step four ends and there is no more information on the display panel.
2. Error Code
Error code when the system is run with error detection, a 8-bit code appears on the display panel, while the second line shows the location code of the relative problem hardware.
3, Srns
Srns (Service request numbers) when the system is run with error detection, the Srns code will be displayed in xxx-xxx form in the display panel and also recorded in the error log of Aix.
