The combination of application router hardware and software provides a simple choice to solve these problems. This approach can save IT costs in several ways: simplicity of implementation technology, fast implementation time, manageability, operating and capital costs, and low total cost of ownership (TCO ).

Compared with traditional enterprise integrated software technology and custom programming options, application routers reduce the development and deployment costs in the early stage and the post-management costs charged by software companies. It is not an exclusive choice either. Application routers can coexist with other ongoing integration projects to protect existing investments. The advantage of this technology development lies in its simplicity.
