17. A declaration is recommended for one row, because it is helpful for writing comments. In other words, in the following declaration method,

Int level; // indentation levelint size; // size of table

Better:

Int level, size;

Never put the declaration of variables and methods in the same line. For example:

Long dbaddr, getDbaddr (); // WRONG!

Do not place declarations of different types of variables in the same row. For example:

Int foo, fooarray []; // WRONG!

Note: In the preceding example, only one space is used between the variable and the identifier. Another acceptable method is to use tabs, such:

Int level; // indentation levelint size; // size of tableObject currentEntry; // currently selected table entry
