Linux directory structure

/bin an executable command for a normal user, any user of the system can execute commands in that directory.

/boot stores the files that are required to be used by the Linux operating system when booting.

Configuration files in the/etc system.

Home directory for normal user, each user has a directory with the same name as the user name in the directory.

The mount point of a removable device in the/MNT system.

/root the host directory for Superuser root.

/sbin the management commands of the system, ordinary users cannot execute them.

Temp directory for/tmp system

/USR system applications and related files

Frequently changing files in the/var system such as log files and user mail
