1. Introduction

Using the coding to manage the project, the GIT version above requires 1.8.0, and many yum sources automatically install GIT version 1.7, so you need to master the manual compilation and installation of the Git method.

2. Install git dependency Package

Yum install curl-devel expat-devel gettext-devel openssl-devel zlib-devel gcc perl-extutils-makemaker

3. Delete existing Git

Yum Remove git

4. Download git source code

Switch to your package file storage directory

Cd/usr/src

Download the GIT installation package

wget https://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/git-2.8.3.tar.gz

Unzip the GIT installation package

TAR-ZXVF git-2.8.3.tar.gz

CD git-2.8.3

Configuring the Git installation path

./configure prefix=/usr/local/git/

Compiling and installing

Make && make install

View the git version number

Git--version

Git is ready to install

5. Add git instructions to bash

Vi/etc/profile

On the last line join

Export path= $PATH:/usr/local/git/bin

Make the profile effective immediately
