When the system applies for a new inode. The system does not read and write to the disk. It looks for an idle location in the Inode table (inode_table) that is stored in memory.

If found, return to the inode directly. Otherwise, wait for an idle position.

After getting an idle position, check the dirty bit, and if dirty, then write back to the disk.

Note, however, that the system does not operate directly on the disk. Instead, a high-speed buffer block is requested to operate the buffer block.

PS: to compensate for the huge speed gap between the CPU and the disk. All system-to-disk read and write operations do not directly manipulate the disk, but instead operate the high-speed buffer.
