In the same network segment, the machine name of each machine must be unique, does not allow duplication, if a machine name conflict occurs, it will affect the user's normal work. The conflicting machine will not work properly, other users can not access the shared resources of these machines, in addition, the machine name conflict will also cause the management of network administration work inconvenience.

To solve this problem, you need to modify the duplicate machine name. Modify the Local machine name method, presumably everyone is not unfamiliar. But have you ever tried to remotely modify the machine name? It is not easy to implement this operation in a previous version of Windows Server 2003 (Windows 2003), which requires Terminal Server support. The Web Access interface provided by Windows 2003 effectively simplifies this process, making it easy for you to complete remotely modifying Windows 2003 machine names. This way, you don't have to go to the machine that you want to modify before you do it.

Hint: The remote client adopts the system is no limit, as long as the user can surf the internet, can run IE browser. Machines that are to be remotely modified for machine names must take the Windows 2003 system.

On the remote client, open IE browser, enter "https://Windows 2003 server IP address: 8098" in the address bar, such as "https://192.168.0.1:8098", where "192.168.0.1" is Windows 2003 Server IP Address, "8098" is the port number used for remote maintenance (it is important to note that access to Windows 2003 server is using the "https" protocol, not the usual "HTTP" protocol). In the login dialog box that pops up, enter the administrator username and password and click the "OK" button to log in to the Web Access interface management interface.

Next, in the "Welcome" screen, click on the "Set up server name" connection, go to the "Server Identification" page, and then enter the new machine name in the "Server Name" field, click the "OK" button, restart the Windows 2003 server, you can make the previous settings take effect.

Tip: For security reasons, Windows 2003 does not provide a Web Access interface by default, and must be set manually. On the Windows 2003 server side, click "start → settings → control Panel", run "Add or Remove Programs" and switch to the "Add/Remove Windows Components" page in the pop-up window. In the Windows Components Wizard dialog box, go to the application Server →internet Information Services (IIS) → World Wide Web service option, select the Remote Administration (HTML) component, and then click the OK button.
