Motorola announced on Monday that it will sell HP's integrity cx2600 servers and a carrier-level Linux operating system capable of handling heavy traffic from the next-generation mobile network.
This software-hardware package is intended for Nextel and other carriers that use the iden Mobile Phone standard and those that use the CDMA Mobile Phone standard such as Verizon and sprint.

Motorola said it plans to start selling new devices in the next 12-18 months. Neither company disclosed the financial terms of the transaction.
As part of the deal, Motorola will sell HP's opencall radio signaling controller software, which is used to build calls at the core of the mobile network. The HP integrity cx2600 server used by Motorola uses Intel's device chip, marking the entry of the device chip into the telecom market.
