Mount *. ISO image file on AIX
1. Create a file system with the same or larger size as ISO image.
# CRFs-V jfs2-G datavg-a size = 1G-M/ISO
2. modify attributes of the file system:
# Chfs-a vfs = cdrfs/ISO
# Chfs-p ro/ISO
3. Determine the logical volume device name of the new file system:
# LSFS/ISO
(Assume:/dev/lv01)
4. Run the DD command to copy the ISO file to the file system.
# Dd If =/data. ISO of =/dev/lv01 BS = 10 m
5. Mount the file system:
# Mount-RV cdrfs/dev/lv01/mnt
6. Analysis:
In the operating system, devices are accessed by accessing device files.
Therefore, both/dev/cd0 and/dev/lv01 can achieve the same purpose. Their attributes are the same.
7. Install software using mounted ISO
# Smitty easy_install
* Input device/directory for software [/mnt]
The following is an example of Coal
CRFs-V jfs2-G rootvg-a size = 1G-M/iso3
Chfs-a vfs = cdrfs/iso3
Chfs-p ro/iso3
LSFS/iso3
Dd If =/data. ISO of =/dev/lv01 BS = 10 m
Dd If =/tsmsoft/tsmforsanst_agent.iso of =/dev/fslv03 BS = 50 m
Mount-RV cdrfs/dev/fslv03/tsmforsan
Tsmforsanst_agent.iso
Tar-xvf 5.5.4.0-tiv-tsmbac-aix.tar tsmbac
