MySQL database reload failed last step workaround for server not started

Originally installed on the computer is the version of 5.1, today the project needs, to be replaced by 5.5, but the installation to the last step "start the server" is stuck there, not executed, multiple installations failed, found a method on Csdn finally solved the problem.

To summarize:

1. Use the original MySQL5.1 installation package for uninstallation;
   

2. Delete the MySQL folder of the installation directory, default in C:\Program Files (x86) \mysql and C:\Program Files\mysql;

3. Delete the registry (manual removal is too cumbersome, I was cleared with 360, so it is not listed which Registry is);

4. Delete the MySQL folder under C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data;

   (Brother I was here did not clear, resulting in a lot of times!!!) This is a hidden folder, C disk-Tools-Folder Options-view-Show hidden files and folders, Admin user should be able to delete this MySQL folder directly, non-admin user can run cmd as administrator, enter that directory, rm/s MySQL command to delete the folder)

5. Re-install MySQL on the OK!
