Sometimes we need to modify the default character set when using non-installed mysql. You can select the installation version.

Take mysql-noinstall-5.0.22-win32 as an example, after decompression will see under the mysql-5.0.22-win32 folder, there are five ini format file, copy the my-medium.ini file, renamed my. ini, open my. in the INI file, add default-character-set = gb2312 under [client] and [mysqld], which means to set gb2312 as the default character set of the database. After setting, restart the myqsl service.
Similarly, you can set other character sets to the default character set.
