Mysqldump: Couldn't execute 'select @ GTID_MODE... when MySQL 5.6 mysqldump is used to back up MySQL versions earlier than MySQL 5.6, an exception occurs. 1 mysqldump: Couldn't execute 'select @ GTID_MODE ': unknown system variable 'gtid _ mode' (1193) causes this error because 5.6 introduces Global Transaction Identifiers (GTIDs ). GTIDs makes tracking and comparison of master-slave replication easier. Mysqldump will try to query this system variable, but this variable does not exist in versions earlier than 5.6, so an error is generated. The method is very simple. Add the-set-gtid-purged = OFF command after mysqldump. 1 mysqldump-h dbHost-u dbuser dbName -- set-gtid-purged = OFF
