First, maintain the simplicity of the Web page

The most important point of a good website is the simplicity and simplicity of the interface. Have you ever heard of the "KISS" rule? "Keep It simple Silly." Applies to all sites.

The authors are apt to fall into such a trap, that is, it is good to use all the Web techniques you may use, such as frames, tables, fonts, GIF animations, and so on, but if you have more, you will be dazzled, overwhelmed, and not impressed by your visitors.

Remember, just because you can create an effect, but doesn't mean you have to create this effect. First ask yourself: What is the value of my joining this technology on the Web? Is it better to express my topic to the visitors?

Second, simplicity is not equal to boredom

The true meaning of simplicity is not dull or dull. Many people are confused by the quirky effects of web sites, ignoring the usefulness of information.

The real meaning of keeping it simple is to think about how to make your site as much as your visitors expect and need. The technology and effect should be used in the right place, in the effective information, so that visitors can focus on what they want to focus on.

Clear Design + effective technology = a good site

Get to know your readers

You're not making your Web page in a vacuum, and you're not looking at it for yourself. If so, you might as well put it on your own computer. You publish your site in the hope that some people will stop to visit it. And these people are your readers.

The more you understand your readers, the more influential your site will be. Does your reader have a slow cat? Then you'd better pay special attention to the size of the page; Do they want to hear music clips? You need to think about the music format on the web. Your reader is a textile worker? So blood red and black are best not to choose; or are they hardcore gamers? You need to avoid soft colors and patterns.

The definition of a good site: provide high quality information to potential readers through elegant style design.

Five "finger"

For a good website, clear navigation is also the minimum standard. You should let your visitors know where they are in the site and be happy to navigate through your site with your guidance. For example, one of the things you can do is "next" with as few choices as possible so that people don't get lost in the long list of selected items.

You know what? The average person's brain sees five or fewer items as a group, but when faced with more than five projects, it has to be divided into smaller subgroups to handle, so it makes sense to keep your options grouped within five or five groups. Your visitors can quickly find the items they want to choose.

五、三次 Click

For web makers, visitors are God, and another way to please God is to keep them from clicking more than three times when they get information. Just think, when you visit a website, click ... Click...... Click...... Click again ... Again ... To find the information you want, or not to find, what would you think?

Plus, when your visitors go deep into the web to find the information they need, they end up scratching their heads. They're not going to be circling around, they're going to leave your homepage and go somewhere else to surf, and probably never come back.

Six, 30 seconds of waiting time

When a visitor enters your site, he should be able to effortlessly find the information he needs. There is an unwritten rule: do not let the page that he is looking at now download more than 30 seconds before the visitor decides where to go next. If you exceed this time, you will begin to lose your "God".

Make sure your page has a modest size and does not have unlimited downloads. If most of your visitors use modem, try to keep the total page size (including the page image) at 45K.

Make sure your page design plan is clear, so that visitors can grasp your site's navigation with a quick glance and know their "next step" to the selected item.

Vii. Balance

Balance is an important part of a good website design.

The balance between text and images. Unless the content determines that this is a full text or full image of the site, you need to use intuition and aesthetic judgment, so that one of them will not drown the other one.

The balance between download time and page content. Of course you want to have a nice page, but you also have to balance the content of your page, because many of your visitors are reading it through the modem. is the picture of your site really worth waiting for so long?

The balance between the background and the foreground. We can draw a beautiful pattern on the white Paper, on the webpage, if can produce the beautiful structure and the background is very exciting. But it's also easy to drown your content in your background.

Eight, the moderate frame

Moderate frames are a good complement to your pages, but as with all the elements of a site, you should never abuse them!

If you want to create a navigation structure that you can see, such as a table directory, frames are a good way to do this, for example, there are three frames on the page-what you see now, the navigation bar on the right, the title, the ad and the description bar at the top.

But frames are not "snake balm". For example, if you want to use rows or columns to display information, the table will be better.

Keep Learning

Creating a Web page is a continuous learning process. Launching your first version of your site is just a start! Technology and tools in the continuous progress, and our understanding of how people use online resources are constantly changing the way, to create a good site you can not revel in the past achievements.

Look at the other sites. If you want to be a good novelist, you must keep reading other good works. If you want to be a good playwright, you have to watch more movies. Similarly, if you want to design an excellent website, you must look at other good websites. But when you look at a website, you can find the advantages and disadvantages of the site, notice what you should learn, and which mistakes you want to avoid.

View the original file. When you see something you like, use your browser's ability to view the original file, and see how it works. After the page you can find something that surprises you.

Reading and learning. Learn the techniques and design methods you can learn as much as possible.
