Oracle announced at its headquarters in the United States that the latest version of Oracle Database 11g is now fully available, the product is completely based on the Linux platform. Oracle Database 11 GB provides customers with a new generation of enterprise information management functions to help customers cope with the rapid growth of data and the changing market environment and meet the needs of better services. IT also reduces IT costs and controls them to a reasonable extent.
Andy Mendelsohn, senior vice president of Oracle database server technology, said: "Oracle Database 11G continues to focus on grid computing, A grid composed of low-cost servers and storage devices provides fast, scalable, and reliable data processing, supporting the most demanding data warehouse, transaction processing, and content management environments."
To provide customers with more features to meet their broader data management needs, Oracle today also released four new feature options for Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition: real-time Oracle application testing, advanced Oracle compression, comprehensive Oracle memory, and active Oracle data protection.
Many organizations want to make full use of database and operating system updates and hardware and system changes to meet business needs. Oracle Real-time application testing helps customers test these changes in a controllable way at a low cost and efficiently, reducing their IT environment time and reducing their risks and costs.
With the release of new compression functions that can be applied to any type of data, customers can use Oracle Advanced compression technology to achieve 2x to 3x or higher compression ratio. With the new partitioning feature, Oracle Advanced compression can be used to deploy information lifecycle management strategies in databases without having to make any changes to applications, further reducing the overall storage requirements.
Oracle comprehensive memories allow database administrators to easily maintain historical records of changed data to meet regulatory compliance and business intelligence needs. Oracle provides a secure, efficient, easy-to-use, and transparent solution for long-term access to changed data.
Oracle actively defends against resource-intensive operations (such as queries and backups) from a single physical standby database, which can be used to improve the performance of production databases. Physical standby databases can be used for both disaster protection and improve the overall quality of services in the production environment, which greatly improves the ROI of physical standby databases.
In addition to these new feature options, Oracle Database 11g provides many new features and enhancements to improve enterprise information management. Oracle Database 11 GB improves the file storage performance, adds security features, greatly improves the performance of Oracle xml db, and enhances OLAP and data warehouse functions.
