OracleDB deletes the table bitsCN.com
Delete an Oracle database table
• Move the table to the recycle bin
• If the PURGE clause is specified, the table and all its data can be deleted.
• Invalidate the subordinate object and delete the object permission of the table
Drop table dept80;
You can use the drop table statement to move a TABLE to the recycle bin or delete all the tables and all their data from the database.
If the PURGE clause is not specified, the drop table statement will not release the space used to the tablespace for other objects, and the space will continue to be considered as the user's space limit. Deleting a table invalidates the subordinate object and deletes the object permission of the table. After a table is deleted, all data and indexes associated with the table are lost in the database.
Syntax
Drop table table [PURGE]
In this syntax, table is the table name.
Criteria
• Delete all data in the table.
• Retain views and synonyms, but are no longer valid.
• Submit all pending transactions.
• Only the TABLE creator or a user with the drop any table permission can delete the TABLE.
Note: You can use the flashback table statement to restore the deleted TABLE from the recycle bin.
