Organization and type of folder

In real life, in order to facilitate the management of various files, we will classify them and put them in different folders. Windows XP fully absorbs this idea, and it is also used to categorize and manage files in a computer, as shown in Figure 1.

1. Folder Organization

Windows XP uses a hierarchy to organize files and folders, and my computer is at the top of the hierarchy, which is the largest folder for managing storage media such as disks, discs and floppy disks in your computer, as well as all files and folders, as shown in Figure 2.

As you can see from Figure 2, in Windows XP, files and folders are organized by: My Computer > Disk, CD and floppy storage media > files or Folders > files or subfolders ....

2. Folder Type

Folders in Windows XP have the following two categories.

> System folders: This is the folder that the system created after installing the operating system, with folders such as Windows, program files, documents, and settings, which are usually located in local Disk C, as shown in Figure 3. For system folders, users generally cannot delete, rename, or move their locations. Otherwise, it may cause the system to not run.

Little knowledge: There are several system folders in the Windows XP system that are more closely related to the user, and we can find them on the Start menu or on the desktop, as shown in Figure 4. Where the My Documents folder is used to place letters, reports, pictures, music, and other personal documents; My Network Places folder is used to manage computers and shared documents in your local area network; Printers and Faxes folder to manage printers; The Control Panel folder is used to manage various system settings. There is also a "Recycle Bin" folder located on the desktop, used to temporarily place user deleted folders and files, thereby providing a line of defense for mistakenly deleting files.

> User folders: This type of folder is created by the user according to need. For such folders, we can delete, rename, or move locations after creating the folder.
