Photoshop Effects: Undersea lighting effect simulation

Today we use Photoshop to simulate the production of underwater light, the main use of gradients and filters, the steps are simpler, but the effect is very realistic.

First look at the final effect, as shown below.

Simulating underwater color with gradient color

First I create a new 500*500 file in Photoshop, set the foreground color to a lighter blue (I use #1680d1), the background is a darker color (I use #0c1b6c), creating a blank layer on the back layer (Shift + Ctrl + N).

Next, pull a gradient from top to bottom with the linear gradient tool and make the following figure.

Create a new, blank layer and hide Layer 1, as shown.

The same is true with the linear gradient tool, which sets the foreground color to bright blue (I use #B9DDF9), and in the gradient editor, select the gradient type from foreground to transparent, as shown in the diagram.

Then, select the radial gradient in the gradient type. Pull the gradient from the top left corner to the middle of the layer in Layer 2, as shown in the figure.

Change layer 1 to visible. Now it should look like the following figure.

So far, basically, only 2 gradients have been used. A linear gradient that dominates the entire background; a radial gradient simulates the light on the surface of the water.

Press CTRL + the left mouse button to load the selection of Layer 2, as shown in the following illustration.

Perform a filter-render-cloud in the selection after loading a selection (your Outlook is still #b9ddf9 blue and back color is #0c1b6c), then press Ctrl+d deselect should be similar to the following figure.

The next step is to do the filter-art effect-plastic wrap on layer 2, and align it as shown below.

After this step back to produce the following effect as shown

Now the effect comes out some, but still a bit wrong, the wave is to be on the water. We are here to use ctrl+t for free conversion, you can refer to the following diagram to make adjustments.

Copy Layer 2 and mix the layer mode to "linear light", reducing the opacity of the layer, as shown in the following figure.

The result is the following figure

Make a light beam on the water

Merge the Layer 2 and Layer 2 replicas on top of the new Layer 3. Use the gradient tool again, and set the foreground color to light green, where I use #32f7e7. In the gradient editor, select a gradient type such as foreground to transparent, as shown in the figure.

Similarly, select a radial gradient to pull the following gradient from the top of the image to the center, as shown in the figure.

Then change the Layer 3 layer blending mode to overlay and reduce the transparency, as shown in the figure.

In Layer 3, in the new layer, in the layer 3 of the foreground to the transparent gradient, in the gradient editor in the following settings.

When you are finished setting, you can choose the angle gradient style, and the gradient is pulled in the same direction as above. Try to make a gradient like the one below, as shown in the figure below.

Finally, change the layer blending mode to filter color and reduce the transparency setting, as follows.

The final effect is as shown.
