Photoshop makes a very transparent color beam

Although the effect of a lot of light beam composition, but a single beam production is very simple, only need to get the general outline of the light beam, and then layered gradually production, control the opacity of the layer, and so on, you can make the superposition effect.

1, create a new 1024 * 768 pixel file, background filled with black. First to make the main part of the beam, the results need to be completed as shown below.

2, a new group, with a pen to check out the outline of the first beam of the path, into the selection after the group to add a layer mask, the following figure.

3, create a new layer in the group, select the Gradient tool, color settings, such as Figure 3, pull out the linear gradient shown in Figure 4 as the background of the beam. This layer is more important and will be reused later.

5, with a pen to check out the upper edge of the high light selection, feather 4 pixels, press CTRL + J to copy to the new layer, the opacity to: 30%, the effect of the following figure.

6, back to the gradient layer, with a pen to check out the bottom edge of the high light selection, feather 4 pixels, press CTRL + J to copy the selection section of the color block to the new layer, the opacity to: 100%, the effect of the following figure.
