PL/SQL Developer and Instant Client installation configuration, developerinstant

I. Preparations

2. Configure the Instant Client

1. Create the % installation directory % \ network \ admin folder

2. Create the % installation directory % \ network \ admin \ tnsnames. ora file. The file content is as follows:

ORCL =    (DESCRIPTION =        (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 127.0.0.1)(PORT = 1521))        (CONNECT_DATA =            (SERVER = DEDICATED)            (SERVICE_NAME = orcl)        )    )

HOST: IP address of the Database Server

SERVICE_NAME: name of the database instance, consistent with the SID

3. Add an environment variable. The tnsnames. ora file can be found in the path specified by the variable.

Variable name: TNS_ADMIN variable value: % installation directory % \ network \ admin \

 

Iii. Configure PL/SQL Developer

1. Open PL/SQL Developer and Click Tools> Preferences. You need to configure the following two parameters in Connection:

Oracle Home % Instant Client installation directory % OCI Library % Instant Client installation directory % \ oci. dll
