6. These walls is kind of funny like that. First you hate them and then you get used to them. Enough time passed, get so your depend on them. That ' s institution alized.

The high walls in the prison are really interesting. When you first go to prison, you hate the walls around you, and slowly you get used to living in them, and eventually you will find yourself having to rely on it to survive. This is institutionalized.

7, I guess it comes a simple choice:get busy living or get busy dying.

8, I has to remind myself that some birds aren ' t meant to be caged. Their feathers is just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of your that knows it is a sin to lock hem up DOES rejoice. Still, the place you live on is that much more drab and empty that they ' re gone. I guess I just miss my friend.

9, there ' s not a day goes by I don ' t feel regret. Not because I ' am here, or because you think I should. I look back on the I am then. Then a young, stupid kid the committed that terrible crime. I feel guilty about what I've done all the while, not because I'm here (in prison), or to please you (parole officer). Looking back on the detours that I've been through, how I want to say something to the foolish young man who committed the felony, tell him how I feel now, and tell him there are other ways to solve the problem. But, I can't do it. The young man was already submerged in the long river of years, leaving only one old man to face the past alone. To be a man again? That's a lie! Boy, don't waste my time, cover your chapter, I have nothing to say.

11. I have the no idea to the those Italian ladies were singing about. Truth is, I don ' t want to know. Some things is better left unsaid. I ' d like-to-think they were singing about something so beautiful it can ' t expressed in words and it makes we heartache be Cause of it I tell you, those voices soared higher and farther than anybody in a great place dares to dream. It is as if some beautiful bird had flapped into our drab little cage a D made these walls dissolve away, and for the BR Iefest of moments, every last man was Shawshank felt free.

I don't know what the two Italian girls are singing today, but I don't want to know. Some things are still not said to be wonderful. I think they are singing some very beautiful and moving stories, wonderful words to express, wonderful to make you heartache. I tell you, these voices are in the sky, flying far beyond the dreams that any one dares to dream. Just like some beautiful birds flapping their wings to our brown cages, and let those walls disappear. At that moment, everyone at the Fort Shark prison felt free.
