In our actual product use or design process, there will always be 2-3 seconds left for our product launch page. So why does all products have the startup pages of these seconds? What is its purpose? Why are some products always happy to change the startup page? Here I will summarize some of the analysis on the launch page for your reference.
1. What is the product launch page?
When an application is opened by a user, the transition page (or animation) that the user sees during the startup process is collectively referred to as the launch page.
2. Why should I have a launch page?
According to the normal product design ideas, it is the primary guarantee for users to use the product as quickly as possible. Isn't this contrary to the purpose of the launch page? Why do we have to work hard to design a startup page or even a startup page? In fact, it takes some time to start the product, especially the operating system, large-scale drawing software, or the game, if you do not give positive feedback to the user, the problem may occur:
The user does not know that you are continuing to operate, and thinks that the application is inefficient or stuck to death.
The interface is unfriendly and users are disgusted, such as the DOS system startup Screen
Iii. role and purpose of the launch page
First, let's take a look at Apple's official design instructions on the IOS startup page:
To enhance the user experience during app startup, you should provide a startup image. The startup image looks very similar to the app's first screen. When a user clicks your application icon on the home screen, the iPhone OS immediately displays the startup image. Once you are ready, your application will display its first screen to replace this startup placeholder image. It must be emphasized that the launch image is provided not to improve the user experience:
"Application access Experience", such as starting an animation
About Window
Brand Promotion elements, unless they are static components of your app's first screen
You may think that following these rules will make the startup image look dull and boring. However, this is actually the case. Remember that starting an image does not provide you with the opportunity to present art; it is designed to enhance your awareness of how quickly your application can be started and immediately put into use.
Obviously, in Apple's cognition, it is emphasized that the startup page must be used to solve the user's waiting time and ensure the user's smoothness. But does the startup page really only support this? I don't quite agree. This kind of golden seconds can be used better. Therefore, I agree that the following two functions should be enabled:
During application startup, the application experience is smoother by reducing users' waiting anxiety
Transmit information (the core function of commercial information and products), stories, or humanistic feelings of Products
4. Quality launch page Appreciation
Below I will divide the product launch page into several categories by purpose, and share some of the high-quality launch pages with you.
(1) ensure smooth use
This type of startup page uses a program false chart as the startup transition of the program, allowing users to think that the program is ready to use. Among them, ibook and google earth are the best combination of the interface used by the actual program interface. A shelf and a distant earth are wonderful!
(2) Brand Information Transmission
The launch page of the brand transfer category is relatively simple. The product name + product logo is basically used as the structure, which simply highlights the topic.
(3) emotional story Resonance
It is really not easy to tell a story or express feelings through a short start page. The several types selected here can resonate most. The pictures on this lonely planet are not nice-looking, at least a lot worse than the startup pages of most applications, and I also have reason to believe that the team is absolutely capable of making better-looking boot pages. But why is this always used? In fact, it is not hard to understand that the core of the product is not just to seize the emptiness of urban men and women in the long night? Let's look back at this picture. You and I are alone on the Lonely Planet, watching every movement on this planet silently. This is not a resonance between the Team and the users!
