These times can be seen from Microsoft's actions
In terms of virtualization, we are not talking about how amazing the Live Migration of SCVMM R2 is. Let's take a look at the perfect combination of virtualization and WDS. Importing VHD into WDS can be a very good idea: using it, we can quickly change the operating system by changing the VHD. Even in some cases, we can use it to back up some important servers. First, we use P2V to convert the Server to Virtual Machine and then import the VHD to WDS for backup!
Next, let's start the actual import operation!
In the process of importing VHD, we need to use the command line tool wdsutil. PS: I don't know why Microsoft doesn't perfect WDS, which makes importing easier?
Run wdsutil/add-imagegroup/imagegroup: "VHDImage" to add an image group named VHDImage.
In this way, an image group named ImageVHD is added.
Run wdsutil/verbose/progress/add-image/imagefile: "d: \ 2K8R2_CHS_X64_ENT_RTM_WX.vhd"/imagetype: install/imagegroup: "VHDImage ", in this way, a vhd image is added to the wds server.
The added image is displayed.
In this way, we have completed the vhd import, so that we can implement many backup servers to facilitate the replacement of systems and other special features. From this we can also see that Microsoft's efforts in vhd file compatibility and application scenarios, it seems that the virtualization boom has come. As IT personnel at the forefront of technology, we certainly cannot come to the end. Next I will write a blog post about Microsoft virtualization as a summary of my personal knowledge.
