First season of "friends"
The author is still a poet.
In the calling out to one another
Of the lovers up and down the Strand
In the sound of the waves and the cries
Of the seagulls circling the sand
In the fragments of the songs
Carried down the wind from some radio
In the murmuring of the city in the distance
Ominous and low
Shouting between lovers on the beach
In the sound of waves and the sound of Seagate hovering in the sky
In the intermittent singing of the radio
In the loose and gloomy whispers of distant cities
I hear the sound of the world where we played
And the far too simple beauty
Of the promises we made
I heard about the world we used to be.
Those promises are so pure and beautiful
If you ever need holding
Call my name, I'll be there
If you ever need holding
And no holding back, I'll see you through
Sky blue and black
If you need to hug, as long as you call me, I will appear
If you need warmth, I will help you through the difficult times
This is the sky that you and I share
