Smooth Remote Desktop Transmission

Microsoft's Win2000/XP/2003 system integrates the Remote Desktop Connection function. With this function, we can log on to a remote server over the network and remotely operate the server like a local computer on the Windows desktop, run programs and enable services. However, in practice, I encountered a problem, that is, it is very troublesome to transfer some files from the desktop of the local computer to the remote server hard disk. Many of our friends have encountered this problem. Today we will discuss this issue.

Software Transfer Method

The simplest method is to install instant messaging tools such as QQ and MSN on both the local and remote servers, and then apply for two numbers, one for local login and the other for Remote Server login. When you need to transfer files, you can directly transfer files through QQ or MSN.

FTP Transfer Method

The above method requires us to install the instant messaging tool. In order to make the server more stable, we usually do not install too much application software. When the software transfer method cannot solve the file transfer, we can use the FTP transfer method. This method is to enable the FTP service on a local computer or remote server, that is, to create an FTP server and transfer files through the FTP site. Of course, if it is not convenient, you can use a public FTP site to transfer files. This method does not need to install any software on both computers, because you can directly log on to FTP using the IE browser.

Procedure

I have used the above two methods before, and I have also used the mail attachment transmission method for small files. However, it was recently discovered that the original remote desktop program has a built-in disk ing function. This function can automatically map the disk of the local computer to the server when logging on to the server remotely, making it easier to transfer files, no need to install software, no need to start the FTP service or find an FTP site for transit. The method is as follows:

Start "Remote Desktop Connection Program" on the Local Computer, click "Options> local resources" in turn, and check the drive letters in the local settings under the tab. Click "Connect" to remotely log on to the server. Open the "my computer" on the server and you will find that the disks of the Local Computer, as well as the soft drive and optical drive are mapped to the server. We can directly open the corresponding disk on the server to transfer the required files, just as convenient as operating the local hard disk.

Tip:The Remote Desktop Connection Program is built in the operating system of Win2000 Server or later. If you are using Win98 or Win2000 Professional Edition, You need to download dedicated Remote Desktop Connection software from the Internet. In addition, the Remote Desktop Connection is only valid when the target server is a public IP address. If the server is in the Intranet, you can only use a port ing technique.
