Solution to the problem that the IE icon on the Windows 7 desktop cannot be deleted

1. As shown in the figure below, there will be an internet explorer icon on the desktop, which cannot be deleted.

2. If the registry cannot be deleted, try to delete it. Press the key combination, WIN + R open and run, enter REGEDIT, and open registry editor.

3. Go to hkey_local_machinesoftwaremicrosoftwindowscurrentversionpolicer=topnamespace when you open the registry.

4. Export and back up data for security reasons, as shown in the following figure.

5. Open the exported file in Notepad and search for Internet Explorer, {B416D21B-3B22-B6D4-BBD3-BBD452DB3D5B} (each machine will be different)

6. Find the corresponding control number and delete the key value.

Now let's see if there is any ie icon on the desktop. If you delete it again, you will find it deleted. If you still cannot delete it, we can cancel the non-desktop display in the desktop personalized settings.
