Solution: Windows 7 does not support sleep

Source: Internet
Author: User

The "sleep" button was not found when I recently used Windows 7. I searched for some help provided by windows, and found some nonsense. Finally, I picked up google and found the answer. Share this record with others.

"Sleep" that disappears"

As shown in the following figure, sleep cannot be found in the "shutdown" submenu in the "Start" menu.

Retrieve "sleep"

I remember that in the XP age, it seems to be in "Power Management. However, no related settings are found.

I searched for the information and quickly found a solution:

Enter:

Powercfg-h on

Or enter:

Powercmd.exe/hibernate on

Note:The administrator privilege is required to execute this command.

"Sleep" back

Still not back? Check if "Hybrid Sleep" is enabled.

If you have not run the preceding command, open

Control panel & rarr; hardware and Sound & rarr; power options, and then click "Change Plan settings"

Turn on "change advanced power settings"

Check if "Hybrid Sleep" is enabled. If it is enabled, close it.

Sure enough, I opened it here.

Set to "off" and click "OK.

Let's take a look. Now the "sleep" button should come out.

Make the "sleep" button disappear

You can also guess from that command, that is, change on to off:

Powercmd.exe/hibernate on

Concepts of sleep, sleep, and Hybrid Sleep

Sleep: cut off the power supply of other devices except the memory, and the data is still in the memory. A small number of batteries are required to maintain the memory power supply. Once the power is down, data in the memory will be lost. The next boot will restart.

Hibernate: write the memory data to the hard disk, and then cut off the power supply of all devices. Power supply is no longer needed.

Hybird Sleep: writes memory data to the hard disk, and then powers off all devices except the memory. This avoids data loss in the memory when a power failure occurs. The next time you start the system, it is restored from sleep.
