Solve Wireshark permission problems in Ubuntu

Source: Internet
Author: User

Wireshark must monitor eth0, but it must have the root permission. However, running the program directly with root is quite dangerous and inconvenient.

The solution is as follows:
1. Add Wireshark User Group

Sudo groupadd Wireshark

2. Change dumpcap to Wireshark User Group

Sudo chgrp Wireshark/usr/bin/dumpcap

3. Grant the wireshark user group the root permission to use dumpcap.

Sudo chmod 4755/usr/bin/dumpcap

4. Add the username to the wireshark user group. My username is craftor.

Sudo gpasswd-A craftor Wireshark
