Start with PXE to complete Win7 network installation for multiple computers

Windows 7 is required for many computers in the company. It is too troublesome to install Windows 7 on a single platform! In fact, as long as the computer supports PXE boot, we can use any normal computer to start PXE for Windows 7 network installation on multiple computers, which is convenient and fast and does not require a CD.

How PXE starts and installs Windows 7

First, let's talk about PXE startup. PXE (preboot execute environment) is a startup technology developed by Intel. It works in the Client/Server network mode and supports workstation to download image files from remote servers over the network, it also supports the Startup Process of the operating system from the network.

Currently, almost all NICs on the computer support PXE boot. Generally, there is a menu similar to "PXE boot" in the BIOS boot settings, indicating that PXE boot is supported. You only need to configure the startup parameters on the server and install the shared image on the official Windows 7 (the method is described later). After the client is started, you can use network ing to install Windows 7 on the network.

Build network servers with two small software

Download the "Deep remote start manager" and "strongstrong PE toolkit PXE. The deep remote start manager is deployed on the server. It is used to remotely start the client computer, allocate an IP address, and transmit the required startup files. PXE is used for the operating environment (WinPE) after the network is started. It has been integrated with Ghost32 and is automatically mapped to the shared resources of the server after startup.

Follow the prompts to install the "strong PE toolkit PXE" to "C: \ ZJQPXE". After the installation is complete, close the "WinPE PXE dedicated edition Server Settings" window, use the "Deep remote start manager" configuration.

Decompress "Deep remote start manager" to "C: \ ZJQPXE", run "C: \ ZJQPXE \ netbootM.exe", and click "configuration> option settings ", in the "STARTUP configuration" option, select "C: \ ZJQPXE" in the working directory, and select "pxelinux.0" as the boot file ". So far, the network server has been set up.

"ImageX" creates an image

After the server is set up, we need to create the GHO file, and then run "Ghost32" on the started client to quickly restore it.

Start a computer with Windows 7 installed. After Entering Windows 7, right-click "computer" on the desktop and choose "manage". In turn, choose "Computer Management> storage> disk management ", right-click "disk management", select "create VHD", and create a "Windows 7. and complete vhd hard disk initialization and formatting. Select this partition in disk management and select "Mark partitions as active partitions ".

Prepare the Windows 7 genuine installation CD, start the command prompt as an administrator, and enter "L: \ boot \ bootsect.exe/nt60 N:" (L: indicates the disc drive letter of the CD ), change the boot records of N disks to NT60 format. Run the "ImageX one-click recovery" software, click "partition recovery", select the VHD disk created above as the partition drive letter, and select "sources \ install" in the image file on the installation disc. wim ", follow the prompts to release the flagship version of the image to the VHD disk.

Run "C: \ ZJQPXE \ external program \ Ghost \ 11.0.2.1573 \ ghost32" and select "partition to image" (do not select "hard disk to image ", otherwise, the hard disk data of the client will be cleared when the disk is restored. gho is placed under C: \ ZJQPXE \ external program \ on the server computer. Right-click "C: \ ZJQPXE \ external program", select "share and security", set the file to "everyone" share, and the share name is "OP ".

Install Windows 7 easily at PXE startup

Now connect the client computer to the network and set it to start from PXE. After the IP address is assigned, the required Startup File is automatically loaded and enter WinPE. after entering the WinPE system, the "my computer" is opened ", make sure that you can see the network shared drive. On the client computer, click Start → program → Ghost 11.0.2.1573, start Ghost32, select partition → image, and select Windows 7 in the above network drive. gho "is restored to the first partition of the client. If the client is a brand new computer, we can use the partition tool provided by WinPE to partition and format the hard disk.

The Network cloning speed is very fast. Generally, you can install Windows 7 in about 10 minutes. After cloning, disconnect the network cable and restart the system to enter the Windows 7 system.
