Support for Firefox to support JRE summary in Linux

1. There are two methods in Ubuntu:

1) directly download the plug-in and install it automatically

Sudo apt-Get install sun-java6-plugin

2) use the. So file

  • Download the corresponding JRE installation from the Oracle website;
  • Add soft link: sudo ln-S $ jre_home/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so/usr/lib/Mozilla/plugins/(for versions earlier than firefox3.6)
  • Add soft link: sudo ln-S/var/jdk1.6.0 _ 21/JRE/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so/usr/lib/Mozilla/plugins/(for Versions later than firefox3.6)

2. Red Hat X86-64 System

1) download and install the 64-bit JRE on the Oracle website;

2) Put the libnpjp2.so plug-in under/usr/lib64/Mozilla/plugins.

After the above steps, you can enter: About: Plugins in the Firefox address bar. If there is JRE related information, the installation is successful!
