The method of constructing the listening trigonometric function with the geometrical sketchpad

The following steps are used to construct a listening trigonometric function using a geometric artboard:

1. Click the line segment tool to draw a line segment AB in the appropriate position of the artboard. Select Segment AB, perform the measure-length command, change the label of the measure to "A", draw the segment CD the same way, and change the label of the measure to "F".

2. Execute the data-new function command, open the New Function dialog box, and create a new function, as shown in the following figure.

3. Select the newly created function, perform the edit-action class button-voice command, and construct the "Hear function f" button.

4. Right-click the new function, select "Draw function" in the pop-up Drop-down menu, and click "Yes" in the pop-up Triangle function box to draw the image of the function.

Clicking the "Hear function f" button makes a sound, and dragging the end of the segment can change the size and frequency of the sound.
