Premise: When we design the mouse click event, drag the window, when we set the detection target waiting for the results to return, when we open a page to view the content, how long is we able to accept it? There is no academic theoretical research support. This article will give you an answer.

PS: The academic support of response time, at least 2 days to spend without Google. Now accidentally found and collated as follows:

1. System response Time Definition

System response time is the time interval when a user sends a complete request to the system to complete the task. The response time of the system is different for each user, and the following factors affect the average response time of the system:

(1) Business-related, different business will have different response time.

(2) in relation to business portfolios, there may be dependencies or other relationships between businesses, and they can also affect each other.

(3) related to the number of users, large concurrency can seriously affect response time.

There are a number of ways to test response time, two commonly used, first byte response time and last byte response time.

2, 3 classic points of time

Miller has given 3 classic recommendations on response time in 1968, and still has a reference value today:

0.1 seconds: The user does not feel any delay.

1 seconds: The user is willing to accept the time limit for the system to respond immediately. That is, the user is willing to accept when the effective feedback time for performing a task is within 0.1-1 seconds. Exceeding this data value means that the user will feel a delay, but as long as it is not longer than 10 seconds, the user is acceptable.

10 seconds: The user remains focused on the limits of this task, and if the value is exceeded, the user will be diverted to other tasks while waiting for the computer to complete the current operation.

3, new technology comes, but these three classic time points will not change

Therefore, the response time guidelines for web-based applications is the same as for all other applications. These guidelines has been the same for a years now, so they is also not likely to change with whatever implementation t Echnology comes next.
