Ubuntu 13.10 replaces ibus with Sogou pinyinFebruary 10, 2014 15:44:34Hits: 510
13.10 IBUs Input Method A bit of a problem, how can not be entered in Emacs 24.3 in Chinese. Finally decided to switch to FCITX, found this quite good, incredibly can install Sogou and Google Input method. Don't hesitate, try it.
First delete the original system input method:
[Plain] View plaincopy
- Killall Ibus-daemon
- sudo apt-get purge ibus ibus-gtk ibus-gtk3 ibus-pinyin* ibus-sunpinyin ibus-table Python-ibus
- RM-RF ~/.config/ibus
The keyboard hints have also been deleted forget:
[Plain] View plaincopy
- Apt-get Autoremove Indicator-keyboard
Then start installing the FCITX IME:
[Plain] View plaincopy
- sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fcitx-team/nightly
- sudo apt-get update
- sudo apt-get install Fcitx-pinyin
- sudo apt-get install-f
- sudo apt-get install Fcitx-sogoupinyin
Now quit the user and sign in to Ubuntu again. Now that you see the system language input box in the upper-right corner is gone, the FCITX option box appears. After you right-select "Configure Current Method", add "Sogou Pinyin" in the Input Method tab of the dialog box, then you can use CTRL + Space for language switching. Can be very cool with the Sogou input method to enter. Google IME has not been tried for the moment.
