Ubuntu 16.04 is installed with only one resolution, unable to use the Xrandr command or modify xorg.conf (resolved)

Ubuntu 16.04 after the installation resolution only one option, using the XRANDR command error, with CVT command can not set, modify xorg.conf also useless.

Solution:

Open:/etc/default/grub
Search: #GRUB_GFXMODE =640x480
Edit: 640x480 change to the resolution you want, and cancel the front #
For example: grub_gfxmode=1920x1080
Update: sudo update-grub
Reboot

I think this should be the graphics driver is not installed, because some graphics drivers are not open source.

I changed the resolution, the system cotton to burst;

In System setup-software and updates-additional drivers use Nvidia's proprietary drive, giving a specific action link: https://jingyan.baidu.com/article/d7130635c5a86113fdf47532.html
