Ubuntu12.04 by default, root login is not allowed. Only common users and visitors can be seen in the logon window. After logging on to Ubuntu as a normal user, we need to make some modifications,
After a common user logs on, the system configuration file needs to be changed to the superuser mode. In the terminal window, enter Sudo-s. enter the login password of a common user and press enter to enter the root user permission mode.
Run gedit/etc/lightdm. conf to modify the configuration file.
[Seatdefaults]
Allow-Guest = false
Autologin-user = root
Autologin-user-Timeout = 0
Autologin-session = lightdm-autologin
User-session = Ubuntu
Greeter-session = unity-greeter
Then we start the root account:
Sudo passwd Root
Enter the password of the roott account as prompted.
Restart ubuntu. You do not need to manually enter the root user name and password. The system automatically enters the root user.
Note:
Ubuntu12.04 uses the unity interface by default. The user experience is very different from ubuntu10.04. I like traditional graphics systems and the gnome classic interface is easier to use.
First, install gnome shell,Sudo apt-Get install gnome-session-Fallback
If the logon window appears when you log on to the system at startup, select gnome (Classic) in the upper right corner of the logon window)
Note that there are many differences between GNOME classic 12.04 and gnome 10.04.
Supplement: gedit/etc/lightdm. conf
User-session = Ubuntu ---> User-session = gnome-classic
After modification, the system will log on to the gnome classic interface by default. If no special effect is required, it will be gnome-fallback. The corresponding logon Window option gnome classic (no effects)
If the system automatically logs on to the root user and uses the classic gnome interface, after the system is restarted, UBUNTU automatically enters the root user and uses the traditional classic gnome interface.
