Unable to reset the virtual machine's administrator password while trying azure

When you forget the administrator password, you can remotely reset the server's administrator password is an advantage of cloud computing services, which is not possible with your own physical server.

However, when using azure, we searched the Azure Management console and did not find a place to reset the virtual Machine Administrator password.

Google found out that Azure did not offer this feature at all:

Official answer from Microsoft Windows Azure Forum (Forgotten VM Password):

As of now there are no way Subscription owner to reset the password externally or outside the Azure VM.

Question and answer from ServerFault (how to reset the admin password on VM on Windows Azure?):

A:The virtual machines on Windows Azure allow to connect from RDP. But How can I reset the administrator password if the password has been lost?

Q:there is no way to does this now, but you can get the ' data off of the ' drive if you need to. Please do not have the Microsoft answer here.

1. Amazon AWS's EC2 virtual machine is a way to reset the administrator password, as follows (from EC2 Windows password recover):

The video is long, and so to summarize the steps:

Create A new scratch EC2 instance running 2003 server, and log into it.

Shut down your lost instance (the one you can ' t log into ") from the AWS console.

On the EC2 console, go to elastic blocks store/volumes and find your c:disk volume, and Detach it.

On this same volume, attach it to your scratch EC2. You can be appear in Disk Manager and I ll get a new d:drive letter.

Go to D:\Program files\amazon\ec2configservice\settings\ and edit config.xml with Notepad

The the setting in the ' file is ' for the Ec2setpassword plugin; Change the ' state field ' from Disabled to Enabled. Save & Close.

On the AWS console, Detach the volume from the Scratch instance (don ' t worry, it safely detaches from Windows)

Attach the volume to your original lost instance, as/dev/sda1

Start the instance. After a few minutes, run the Get Windows Password function which'll have the newly generated.

2, Aliyun can be directly in the management console reset cloud server administrator password, the operation needs to be mobile phone or mailbox verification.

It is recommended that azure increase this functionality and that it will become standard for cloud computing services.
