Use diskgenius software for compression. For example, the virtual disk file is in vmdk format. In this case, we can use the following method to compress it. As shown in, this is the size (36.0 GB) before uncompress ):
The procedure is as follows:
1. In the diskgenius software, first open the virtual disk to be compressed (menu: "Hard Disk-> open virtual hard disk file "). After opening, you can see the attached virtual disk in the window on the left.
2. Create another vmdk virtual disk with a capacity not less than the source Virtual Disk (menu: "Hard Disk-> new virtual hard disk file-> New VMWare virtual hard disk file ").
3. Start compression. Select (menu: "tool-> clone hard disk"). After the dialog box is displayed, select the vmdk virtual disk to be compressed when "select Source hard disk, when selecting the target hard disk, select the new vmdk Virtual Disk and click Start ".
4. Now that the copy is complete, find the path of the two virtual disk files and compare the size to see that the virtual disk has been compressed.
In this case, some subsequent cleanup work is required. First, disable the two virtual hard disks you just opened in the diskgenius software, or directly disable the diskgenius software. Rename the source virtual hard disk file (backup, just in case), and rename the new virtual hard disk file to the source virtual hard disk file name (Be sure to be identical ). Finally, open the Virtual Machine and start the virtual system. If there is no problem, you can delete the source virtual hard disk file before compression.
So far, compression is complete.
