The modification method described below only includes editing the Windows registry, so you do not need to run any third-party applications with unknown sources.
Theoretically, this modification will be unrelated to the display driver/adapter because it modifies the display setting value instead of the display driver/adapter itself.
Important: Make sure that your monitor supports the update rate under the resolution you want before modification! At your own risk!
Assuming that you have installed your monitor correctly (the display driver supports the vertical update rate you want, 75Hz in this case ), in addition, you are using a "common" system (Multi-monitor support is not enabled, and so on). Please do as described below:
Open the Registry Editor and find the key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ system \ CurentControlSet \ Control \ Class]. Expand the Class key and you will see a group of keys similar to {1113E534-EAF87542.
If you select one of them, you will see some values, which are a string named "default" or "Class", or both. They are used to identify devices, such as modem and keyboard. Find the key whose "Class" value is "Monitor.
Expand the key. It should contain at least one subkey, usually "0000 ". If there are multiple child keys, you must check which one is currently in use and modify them one by one.
Expand the "0000" key, which should contain the sub-key "MODES", and then expand it. Then you should see a sub-key named after your display's maximum resolution. Now, if you want to set the vertical refresh rate to 75Hz under the 1024X768 resolution, you can add a subkey "1024,768" under the "MODES" key ", add the string value "Mode1" = "75-75, 75-75 ".
Now, if you open "show properties" (right-click your desktop) and click "advanced" to go to the "Monitor" tab, you can select the only update rate, that is, 75Hz. Of course, the prerequisite is that the "0000" Key is currently in use and the "Hide mode that cannot be displayed on the monitor" option is selected. Repeat the preceding modification process to add all the update rate/Resolution combinations you want.
Finally, go to "Display Properties-> advanced-> monitor" and select the update rate. Here, select 75Hz.
Essentially, this modification sets the minimum update rate supported by your monitor to the desired update rate. Now, all games will run at the specified update rate, regardless of whether they use Direct3D or OpenGL.
