Users are used to "designed for scanning"

When we design a page or a banner, we tend to think about creativity, or make the results very dazzling, but ignore some user habits. What I'm talking about here is something that everyone knows, but is often easy to ignore-designed for scanning. Users are good at scanning and are diligent in scanning. WHY? 1. Busy-most users spend very little time reading a lot of pages. To improve efficiency, they will scan most pages and rush over. They cannot and do not have time to read all the information that the Internet brings to them. 2. clear goals-most users browse pages with their goals at a certain time. They either want to find information, buy a product online, or read current events, you can either find something you are interested in or... Therefore, scanning is the way to find what they want. 3. habits-it is precisely because users are always busy and users always have clear goals. In newspapers, magazines, books, and on the Internet, users are always used to scanning, they are used to looking for what they want and are interested in. Therefore, in order to design more effective pages, we need to design for scanning. Next, we need to understand the elements required for scanning-based design. I will mainly talk about the previous two points. 1. To establish a clear visual hierarchy, users will break down the visual hierarchy every day and filter out what they need, which forces users to keep thinking. A good visual hierarchy is pre-processed to organize pages and differentiate priorities in a way that users can quickly understand, thus reducing users' work. If a page does not have a clear visual hierarchy, all content will seem equally important, which will inevitably reduce the user scanning speed. So how can we establish a clear visual hierarchy? A. the more important the part is, the more prominent it is. For example, the most important banner, navigation, login box, headers, And button designers on this page will deliberately highlight them. Generally, important content is highlighted by means of size comparison, color contrast, texture, line, or shape assistance. Generally, multiple forms are used and divided based on the importance of the content. The same is true for the following pages. B. logically related parts form a set of visually similar content, put them under the same title, adopt a uniform visual style, or place them in a clearly defined area. Example: c. logically, it also visually contains the following parts: The image center seems to belong to it, it is because there is a clear primary-secondary relationship between the contained relationship and the main topic bar and the following small title bar. 2. obviously, the area that can be clicked is clearly marked for the purpose of user scanning. Imagine how sorry the user missed the big meal we carefully prepared for him while browsing the page. The website's click rate is not high, and a clearly visible click area is very important. On the webpage, we know that buttons, underlined text, blue text, and text with icons can all be clicked. Generally, gray descriptive text and text cannot be clicked. However, sometimes designers pay too much attention to the aesthetics of the page and ignore these aspects. For example, when we see 1st and 2 cases, we will think, can these letters be clicked? You may try to click and ignore these operations. When we see 3rd and 4 cases, we will not hesitate to click to use them. The small seemingly inconspicuous details that the designer ignores may affect user operations, or even reduce the website's return to visit rate. In short, the role of a designer is not only to make the page look beautiful and attract users' attention, but also to pay attention to the reading and operability of the page. It should be designed for scanning. Article from: Baby Swimming Pool http://www.uptui.com Reprinted, please specify the original position.
